Matthew James DrollingerHello, and welcome to my Web site. Here you will find a few of my own music compositions from the past decade. Most of these are in MIDI format, but I'm trying to reproduce several of them in MP3 format because MP3 sounds better and the sound isn't reliant on users' individual computer systems. You could think of MIDI like a "ringtone" version of a song. MIDI files are just data - sheet music that is read by your computer. Your computer plays the role of the orchestra. The instruments aren't actual instruments, but noises generated by your computer, made to sound somewhat like a particular instrument. Those noises you hear on your computer probably sound quite different (in waveform, volume levels, and note duration) than the same MIDI file being played on my computer, so try not to be overly critical of the MIDI music. You may be critical of the MP3 files though...those sound the way I want them to, no matter whose computer you're using. Feel free to download my compositions, but please do not distribute my music without giving proper credit. For more information about me including photos, bio, and blog, visit my MySpace page at http://www.myspace.com/mattdrollinger. I am a proponent of MySpace. If you don't have an account there, you should get one. It makes it easy to keep in touch with your friends in one place.
